On an earth that looks a lot like our own, every creature is born with a magical skill, and Elaine Aquae is one of them. When she discovers that the man who raised her isn’t her biological father, she decides to leave her secluded home in the Alappan mountains and start fresh at Locke University in the fast-paced city of Garriver. She’s lived her whole life believing she’s the only mage (magic user) alive with what she thinks is a useless power, but all that changes when she meets Ivan Gray: a scrappy, self-serving crook who just so happens to be the only other probability mage alive.
